Life's too short for bland walls
Meet the colour-obsessed brains behind Guava Juice ðŸ§
Hi, I'm Mishka, the face, hands and slightly colour-obsessed brain behind Guava Juice. in 2024, out of my love for colour and hatred for bland walls, Guava Juice was born.
Guava Juice is here to make your walls a little less dull and your home a lot more joyful, with colourful art inspired by the places, people, food and everyday things that make life colourful.
Think of it as colour therapy for your home 🎨
What's with the love of colour?
Honestly? It’s been a bit of an experience salad.
From growing up in South Africa, to the horror of moving into a "cardboard box new build", to my mama bear changing the colour of our walls without warning (she’s still an icon), I’ve always been drawn to colour and the way it can completely change how a space feels.
My creative journey started with Spirograph pictures and blow-pen masterpieces (I fear only 90s kids will remember), followed by a copious amount of drawing and painting during my teenage loner era. I’ve always made things simply because I love making them.
Now, I get to make things that bring that same little hit of joy to other people’s homes. And honestly, what’s better than that?
The process
I’m a creative magpie. I like too many things to pick just one.
So, I’ve let this trait spill into my creative process. For a long time, I worried that I didn’t have one ‘stand-out’ medium like every good creative is supposed to. But I’ve realised that I don’t want to be limited to just one.
Instead, I’m embracing the eclecticism. I get to make a beautifully mismatched mix of things, with colour as the golden thread that ties everything together.
I’ll flit between digital art, sketching, lino printing and beading to keep you on your toes. Prints, jewellery, handmade pieces, and whatever else my brain decides to dream up next.
Because honestly, isn’t life a bit more exciting with a little variation sprinkled in? ✨
So, if you're looking for something beige and sensible, I'm probably not your girl.
But if you want to put a little more colour on your walls, welcome to Guava Juice.
